E.I.S. Scan | What to Expect

HillChiro_WebsiteHeaderWhat to expect at your E.I.S. SCAN (ES TECK) appointment.

It will take approximately 30 minutes 30 minutes in total and will be conducted by one of our trained staff.

How to prepare for your scan

  • Remove rings and nail polish
  • Wear a short sleeve top
  • Bring a list of prescription medication that you are taking
    • Name of the drug
    • What the drug is for
    • How many times per day
    • Any other relevant information

Getting set up for the scan – 10 min.

  • Your blood pressure is taken
  • Personal information is entered into the computer (first time scan only)
  • Forehead, hands and feet are cleaned with rubbing alcohol to ensure a good connection with the computer
  • Electrodes are attached to your forehead and the ES TECK (upgraded E.I.S) computer.
  • Hands and feet are placed on individual metal pads that are approximately the size of your feet and hands.  The pads are attached to the computer.

The scan – 20 min.

  • The scan begins.
  • Your results will be calculated and saved on the computer.
  • At a certain point during the scan you will be asked to hold your breath for 15 seconds to measure Valsalva syndrome.
  • At another point you will be asked to stand up for a brief period, and then asked to sit down again.
  • When the test is complete, your results are printed out – one copy for you to take home, and one copy to keep for your file.

Review of the Results with Dr. Hill

  • A follow up appointment will be made to review your results with Dr. Hill in the next few days.
  • Recommendations for supplements and treatment plan are given at this time.
  • This appointment is included in the price of the scan ($120 / scan )

Follow Up Appointment

  • It is recommended that another scan be done in 4-8 weeks to make any modifications to your treatment plan.
